{ we had a grrreat time }

It's been 3 years...

... my dear friend,
and I miss you so.

Hello Kitty is coming to SG!

So excited to hear it's coming to singapore!
Thought I will never catch it since it's last held in HK.
This is the next most exciting thing to look forward to (for me)
since the Games+Toys Convention@Suntec.

This exhibition needs tickets though...
But totally worth it for kitty fans!

And I'm SO gonna get this at the souvenir shop!

And to add to the HK fever...

Hello Kitty 'Ribonetta Wish' Blythe
(suggested retail price S$325)

Just feel that the hair colour is TOTALLY out of place!
Think I like the box more than the doll...

Yoga, I'm back

After a long time (being preggers and all), I'm finally back to doing yoga from a break of TWO whole years.

I went back to my favourite teacher, Irene, from sengkang CC.

She's already a grandmother in 50s, but she looks like early 40s and she's SLIMMER than me!

Mind you, her tummy is totally FLAT and her posture - no buts about it - straight & slim.

At least that's what I hope to achieve after this 3-month course with her.

I jumped right back into Intermediate level 'cos I find Beginners too slow, as the teacher tend to want to explain more.. yup, kinda loh soh...

I know I should take it easy first, as i have forgotten many yoga terms and names for postures which come in the form of animal (downward dog, cobra, crocodile....)

And many of my body parts are not cooperative to stretch that extra centremetre... *argh.....

Took me a while to recap but the lesson kinda pushed me to want to exercise more.

Strawberry Jam Puffs

I'm really happy to get the craft project started, and really wish
I can find more time to create more sweet foods for a new etsy shop soon.

Re-shot the previously made cream puffs in a new setting
while the babies took their after-bath morning snooze.

Strawberry jam puffs done up the night before.

My current humble little *studio*. I so need a desk lamp and
a proper 3D box-setup!

神啊! 请给我多一点 ( 空闲 ) 的时间!!

Miniature Chocolate Cream Puffs

I found some time today (at last!) to make these delicious chocolate creme puffs.
This is the 'original' version before i added...

{ Still thinking if I should sell them in etsy or ebay? }

Bored.................

the twins have been nursing their cough and cold for 3 days already. thankfully they seem to be recovering after taking the flu meds, lots of sleep and a little ginger added to their porridge the past few days. i suspect it's due to too much sun in the morning... even i can get ill being under the hot sun for too long.

*~*~*~*~*~*

Qi discovered how to clap her hands this morning! I'm so surprised to see her doing it, and quickly sing-along and make her repeat and remember the action. En, who already knew how to clap with both hands, also joined in and both of them practised even more heartily seeing each other doing the same action. i think that's one good thing about twins - the company of a same-age sibling.

*~*~*~*~*~*

yesterday was the FIRST saturday that the entire family stayed home - the twins down with flu and the husband suffering from neckache. i was tired too from taking over most of the cleaning/washing/feeding.

美女Ballerina

She arrived at my doorstep yesterday in a large box which weighs like just 200g.
Yes, she's sitting tall at 22" but weigh only this much!
To me she's the most beautiful doll out of all that i've collected to date.

I was telling hubby,"hey, wanna see 美女?"

description by etsy seller:

This is a darling Vintage 1960's Bradley Doll/Treasure Doll.
She measures approx. 22" tall.
Soft foam body, silky wig.
She is outfitted in a wonderful boudoir
style pink dress with
white
faux fur collar and cufflinks.

play-ground

MIL & myself decided a change of the daily suntanning venue for the twins...
we brought them to this little fitness corner around the block to practise their walking. the sunlight today was especially glaring and hot, but the padded ground was cleaner and softer to walk/crawl on.

Another use of the tricycle - a push-walker - an idea came up by MIL.
the babes love pushing the tricycle round and round the place!
(after sometime they get tired and want to sit down)

i'm happy they both got 'showers of blessings', as i call it...

bradley doll fever

i think i have quite enough of spending big bucks on blythe dolls.

so i'm glad to come across these vintage bradley dolls after surfing on ebay and flickr.

i adore their pretty, innocent, vintagey look.

but mostly i love their PRICES.

i got this off etsy.com for only usd$7! (shipping is 13.50 though >.<)

she looks tall, but she's only 7" tall, and
weighs like a feather! No joke!

here's a closeup!

loooove her mascara!

this doll is totally DIFFERENT from blythe.
you cannot change her clothes 'cos they are GLUED onto the hair/body!
i guess you have to use force or something...
but i guess the whole point is to admire their vintage look!

feet are STUCK to the base.
yes - she can stand on her own!

think i'll bring her to the botanic gardens one day...

lower arms and fingers can be bent to a certain extent (they felt like made out of wire). her head can be rotated to look left and right, but somehow automatically swings back to one side.
the only thing i dislike about her -
the arms look like chicken feet!

anyway... more girls later!

唐三藏 & 济公

Brought En back to KK this morning for his physio session.

His previously tight, fold-in thumb is at last given a 'pass'
by the therapist - yay!

... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...

Some recent random polas!

'suntanning' + practising 'walking' at the park every morning

we REALLY need TWO baby chairs now!

dessert time with gong-gong & po-po

clowning around with a paper hat gong-gong & po-po brought back from their china trip.
here's En looking like
唐三藏...

... and skinny qi - 济公 !!! wahahaha!

En's favourite snuggle place

He's already 13+ months and still not giving up the sarong...

Reason being, he's very obedient when it comes to nap/bedtime.
We just pop him in, pass the pacifier, pull the shades, switch on the fan, close the door, and he'll be off to slumberland ON HIS OWN.
No rocking, cooing, singing.
Even if he's not tired, he'll just laze in it quietly.
(until he gets really bored and wish to get up)

So for everybody's 'convenience sake',
he's entitled to use this for an extended period.

water babies

today we finally hit the pool.... yay!

though it's a long 20-minute walk to the sengkang swimming complex,
it's quite worth it seeing the babes adapt to the crowded and noisy pool effortlessly and enjoying themselves in the not-so-warm water.
En was even busy *making friends* with other kids in there!

i wish i had taken more photos! but MIL and i were sooo busy drying + dressing them.
but very much looking forward to the next visit!

成长, 成长, 为你成长...

does the title sound familiar?

it's the tv ad jingle for scott's cod liver oil. has been ringing in my mind for a few days whenever i blog about the twins...

'cos nowadays they have undergone quite a bit of *growth* and changes in the surrounding that again i'm huffing and puffing just trying to keep up with them.

:: feeding ::

new foods introduced! now we feed them pinchfuls of bread for breakfast, fruit/avocado yogurt for dessert and whole eggs mixed into their porridge.
prunes to relieve their hard stools.

finally they are able to self-feed using their little fingers!

:: sleeping ::

as blogged earlier, qi has been *promoted* to share the bedroom with me, on the floor. she finally learns to sleep all by herself. i just have to off the light and shut the door during her bedtime. this area is also the babes' common play-area. it is spacious and safe with minimum furniture.

:: movement ::

they are starting to stand up and walk baby steps with support.
the push cart bought during the last Robinson's sale comes in handy!

sometimes when i'm in this room i feel like i'm operating a mini childcare centre...

Ice cream + banana waffles

Care for some YUMMY ice cream waffles with bananas with rootbeer float?

How i wish for some REAL ice cream + banana waffles right now...
Someone bring A&W back to Singapore!

(Re-ment secret set from disney 50s cafe)

Sometimes...

... i feel guilty.

at not knowing for sure what i'm doing for the babes are correct.

being a first-time mom is SCARY.

baby information on the net can be overwhelming.

how would i know what truly works, and what i should believe?

i can only go with my guts.

looking at my babes photos and other blogger mom's photos,

i'm constantly reminded about the smallness in size of my babes.

not excluding the constant comparison remarks around us.

maybe it's just me, who's overly conscious.

i hate to reveal their age to curious passers-by who ask 'how many months already?'

...and their surprised expression when i tell them the babes are already over 1 year.

some say, ''cos you have two.'

but that's not an excuse. twins can be of bigger size too.

i didn't notice their getting skinnier until the last gynae visit,

who commented on their current mealplan.

she's like - 'why did you feed them this way?'

i was kind of pissed - 'i can't tell you why, it sort of EVOLVED into this from the beginning.'

inputs from hubby, from the net. from parenting magazines. from other experienced parents.

after the gynae visit, i feel totally defeated.

i REALLY thought they were eating well.

thankfully the doc wrote us a new mealplan - which i hope - works.

so there's something for the babes.

i think i need something for myself too.

even if i don't compare them verbally, i think i do so mentally too.

that's not being fair to them - i should be thankful that they are healthy and normal, at least.

i can't ask for anything better...

Mini Love Letters

Inspired by the Rockstar Diaries blog,
i shall start my own little *love letters* here.

Dear hubby,
Thanks for being supportive always and
NOT being irritated
when i'm irritated
by the whining babes.

Dear pa & ma,
Hope you both enjoy touring
china this week!

Dear prunes,
Please please help me keep the babes'
digestive system going...

Dear saturday,
You're here at last...
Do stay a bit longer today..

Dear caroline,
It's been ages since we do lunch!
Shall call you when

my MIL returns next week.

Dear babes' doc,
Thanks for tidying up their messy mealplan.
It makes more sense now

and it help them eat better!

Can't take my eyes off her

My new addiction - Bradley Dolls.

I'm already thinking of names for her - Rose, Rosette?
She's sooo beautiful, and only a fraction of a price compared to blythes.
Can you believe she's 22" inches tall and cost only usd29.99??
Crossing fingers and toes in my sleep tonight praying that
the etsy seller will ship her to singapore.

||| please.....
